Overview of MOVE-FLOW…
MOVE-FLOW is a heterogeneous Workflow Management System whose architecture is based on Service Oriented Architecture and Component Based Architecture. MOVE-FLOW proposes a Workflow Management System architecture that enables providing workflow as a service to subscribers over the web with the concept of Software as a Service SaaS. The proposed Workflow Management System enables organizations to host their business processes to MOVE-FLOW without the need to install MOVE-FLOW in their local servers. It enables a workflow execution over internet in disconnected and heterogeneous system environments.
MOVE-FLOW or heterogeneous Workflow Management System, is a workflow management system that developed at Move IT labs. It aims to solve the flowing scenarios:
Scenario 1:
Supply chain process may need to pass through several organizations to finish. These organizations may have different operating systems, may have their own software solutions that tailored for their needs and developed by certain language. The user doesn't want to switch off from his application and use another one to complete the process. He may also need to have a copy of the data that will be sent to the engine and have extra data that he want to keep for himself in his local database related to the same activity without sending them to the workflow engine.
Another problem may face such process, that the executer of their activities is not known. The activity may be defined by role as an executer. But the identity of the executer is not defined at the server that manages the process. It is provided by the organization that execute the activity and not by the organization that hosts the process or initiated it.
Scenario 2:
Most of e-governmental solutions are based on a Workflow Management Systems WfMS. Workflow process may pass through different organization to complete its executions. Those governmental organizations use different operating systems and different development environments. Some of them may have WfMS in their servers and others may not. Also some of governmental processes may need intervention of nongovernmental organizations to complete its execution.
Scenario 3:
SMEs may not afford to buy a workflow management system. or they may need to execute a few process and only pay for it. They need a workflow management system that enables them to host their process on it without have to buy and host the engine itself. Also they want to fully integrate their applications to complete the process without having to change their tailored application or working environment. |
